Which is better? A Unity Web Player or a Shockwave player? Just a curious question.

It's a kinda tricky question. :D There are two points of view: what game developers think about it vs what players think about it. As a player I can't say which player is better.

There are pros and cons for both of them.
From my point of view, there are two BIG disadvantages in Unity3D:

1) no support for flash (SWF) modules.
All the (very complex) Hopeless 2 menus are SWF modules.

2) buggy rendering.
Here is a simple SMC benchmark in Unity3D:
http://hopeless2.net/utils/Unity3D_SMC.html
Now get inside the castle (in the middle of the map).
Even if you don't get a FPS drop, the motion is very choppy (not smooth at all).

Mainly for these reasons, I gave up on Unity3D a few years ago.
