Awareness highlights

Would it be possible to highlight the outer edges of the map buttons to indicate there is activity in those maps rather than painfully trying each map to find at least one active player ?
For example, if there are no players in a map then the outer edge of the button remains as normal but if there are players in a map then the edge of the map selector button glows and dims gently or changes colour to indicate there is activity in the map or the whole button changes colour, either option would be a good indicator.
I'm sure it would be a great help to all players, if it can be done of course. Just an idea, Thanks.

How about displaying player name on the buttons e.g. sherpy is playing , do not try to enter this map/camp? :baby:

Why do you ask for something like that after the latest update (forced map and disabled buttons for the other maps)?

Thanks supreme lol ! Nothing wrong with me being in a camp thanks very much :D
I can still play in all the camps, not forced, if I use retro mode.
Please, please leave it that way as some of us don't want to be forced in to one camp. Besides, really, playing all the time in one camp gets a bit boring, maybe up the limit to a random 3 camps at least, and then they change maybe at the end of each week. All these other camps were created to add variety to the game now they are reduced to one camp. Not for me thanks and I'm sure not for some others too. Necro City is not my favourite camp either, I like it there, it's a great map but not so much to play every time I log on.
Now, if we had highlighted buttons it would make looking for each other easier.
I'm sure supreme had the best of intentions with her idea but now it's been implemented, tried and tested the end result is probably not as ideal as she hoped.

Sherpy, It's not even a week or so that you assumed it to be a failed attempt. Give it some time. I agree that your idea is great but it looks cool when there are plenty of players playing. I have visited the maps and camps many times but no luck to play a good game or with players. This game was awesome and with full camps in number of maps. What I observed is that initially there was only one map when players started to play the game and with every new map , we used to be very excited and played the game 24/7 nearly because we already had number of players familiar with game play and playing everyday (I played this game 24/7 for 3 years  ). But now its not like that. I wish to play with players, not with walls of the maps. I roam in every map and guess what I see? ghosts. Let's give it a month!

There can be slight change that instead of forcing a map for a week.. it can be for 2,3 days or one map/day (Beginners or new players will get to know the map with players atleast)
or
beginner mode available for one map only, rest maps can only have registered players along with your highlighting feature.
or
forced map for free for all and rest maps available for teams
or
on weekend some special rule
or
Whatever you guys prefer best :)

For now, I want to see all players in a single map to play with :)

Ok, I clearly didn't realise that this was such a fresh feature request, MY BAD !!!. I'm not into checking dates on forums just reading the content. It's not a bad idea, it's just one I wasn't happy with, I'm sure I'm not alone and we are all allowed an opinion otherwise forums would be pointless wouldn't they.
It has provoked quite a few ideas from Supreme though  and that can't be a bad thing. More ideas from more players would be nice now. there's gotta be a few out there. So come on guys, have some input get your ideas in

There is a feature request I have mentioned in the past, I would like to see and I don't think I really explained it properly so I'll have another go here and that would be to have the choice to disable one weapon of your choice in the map 'session' you are currently playing in if you are the map owner.

For example, I start a new session and instead of choosing "> items off" to disable all items, I can choose "> mines off" just to disable the mines but all the other items remain on, so I can still have my Pizza and eat it ! and the same can be applied to one weapon of your choice, only one weapon for the session, again, only if you are the camp owner, during the session you will have the facility of turning off one weapon. If players are not happy with this weapon not being available, they can go to another session and play there where it will be available.
How many times I have joined a map where the experts can blow you away in a rocket fest in a small map where they are so expert in the map (because they live there) that they can gain many extra points by blasting everyone with an RPG, no skill, just by knowing where the spawn points are and your three seconds isn't enough to get away espcially if they track you with a radar too. So for one session only, I could select "> rpg off" and that one weapon isn't available to anyone in the map.
I think this would entirley change the gameplay for each map, for your session. Not all weapons are available in all maps anyway so it shouldn't be too unfamiliar with a lot of players.
Occasionally, I turn the items off when I open a new session (that's the way I like it) and the best games I have ever played here have been with the items off. So no radar for anyone !
For me, it puts the skill of the player back in the game but I do appreciate that some players want it. But with the single request feature you could also have the choice of "> radar off" so all of the other items are still available.
What do you think ? Perhaps it can also be tried for a month too, remember the saying "Less is more", I think it would apply here too. (sometimes)

Thanks for reading  Sherpy....................................................
