PLEASE DO SOMETHING

This became a nightmare, we can not play the normal one free team and that some of the new players come and destroy everything ... it's become a waste of time, you can do many things, to prohibit that eg. anyone <1000 frags can not participate in free or team or to make a list of players who deserve to play in the team free and anyone new who wants to be on the list should be to deserve it. Or that there is a special command who can play and who does not ... I know that we have a "lock" and "unlock" but it does not help us much...

Honestly and from the heart, your Milan.
Yes Milan, I expected this request.

First of all, Team Deathmatch is the real elite teams play.
But we need more registered teams for that.
And I bet we'll get more teams very soon (I'm preparing extra bonuses for registered teams).

Secondly, the easiest way to get rid of newbies is to include 2 more multiplayer modes buttons:
"Free For All (elite)" and "Free Teams (elite)".
As you know, I did that for StrykeMC and I did it almost for nothing.
Many "top players" were looking for unregistered players and dumbs in order to raise their scores fast. :?

And finally, because you posted this request in the "In-camp commands" topic,
I will think about the implementation of a possible
> camp elite command.

Good points Josh.

Timberwolf wrote:I think the command is perfect instead of creating a separate teams room. The camp owner can put in the "> elite teams" command, and only players with so many frags can enter.
Unfortunately it's not so simple as it looks.
To send some infos (the number of frags) to the session owner, the player must join the camp.
To join the camp, the player needs a free slot.
So the session owner cannot give a slot based of an unknown number of frags.

I have to find another approach.

Frags are too easy to come by to give a minimum frag required to enter free teams. 1000 frags could be achieved in a week quite easily.
Shouldn't it be about trying to educate people how to use free teams to its potential.
How about try a different approach (which I also know that this isn't perfect).
If we limit 'free teams' to members of registered teams then there is still a little control of who goes in. I understand that this is a little harsh on people who aren't in or don't want to join a team.
Also, to be in a registered team, you need to be registered in this forum.
This means contact is easier for everyone to help new players.
Like I said, its not perfect, its just an idea to throw in with any others that come along.

As you said, it's not perfrct idea, it's a GREAT idea... Bravo Simon!
We will have more teams, and people will be able to educate, to learn the rules, what is allowed and what is not...

Guys,

In the past 4 days we had a HUGE free teams activity:
http://necromanthus.com/Games/ShockWave ... eTeams.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Most of the players these days are from Turkey.
Many of them already have over 500 frags.
They became better and better and they will ask for registered teams, you may bet on that.
Simon's idea (to limit 'free teams' to members of registered teams) sounds good to me, but it's not fair.
And that's because "Free For All" and "Free Teams" should be ... free for all.
On the other hand, it's annoying to get some newbies in a "PRO" free teams camp.
So here is my idea:
TRIPLE power for players with >1000 frags against players with <100 frags in case of:
> username out
In other words, you can kick out the newbies with a single command.
Of course, you can lock the camp after that.

Here is a better approach:

The session owner can launch the > camp elite command.
- all the players with less than 500 frags are kicked out from the camp.
- any new player with less than 500 frags after he joins the camp is kicked out.
- if the session owner leaves the camp (or lost connection), the camp remains "elite".

What do you think about all of these?

Last night I got an email from Amanda.
There is a (small) problem related to the > limit 100 command.
It works perfect for all the players who received that command.
However, if a new player joins the camp, his frags limit is 50
and if the current score is above 50-X or X-50, his scoreboard is frozen.

Workaround: the camp owner must set the 100 frags limit for every new player.

We also had problem yesterday in free team... well it wasn't so big problem, score is saved on 100, but when we pass 50 frags, on every next frag score first show 0-0 that after that show real score...

Yes, as i said before, the frags limit is not broadcasted for the new players.
Their limit is still 50 and, as you already know, the scoreboard is reset 5 seconds later.
In these conditions, their scoreboard is frozen and is trying to reset every 5 seconds.
Until I find the best approach (I don't want to change the network protocol only for the frags limit),
use the above workaround.

A suggestion for a smooth running of a game, maybe it would be to elect some good players who could have the power to moderate.
Some players just entering the game to spread offense (homophobia, anti-Semitism), etc..
Good command, such as username out / ban (may be temporary and only a suggestion).
Today, 09 February 2010 a guy named greekwarrior managed to mess up the field. I hope that sometimes does not happen anymore.
Remus, suggests a good group of moderators for things like this do not happen again, please.
command> nickname ban (temporary) may be a good suggestion
PS: commands do not work in FreeForAll, I suggest this only for a group of good players elected.
Thank you for your attention

Yes Aldinho, you are right.
The main problem is that > username ban is a dangerous command.
Also, it's an open door to "powerful" players with (possible) bad attitude.
I have to think about all of these.

As I said, it's just a suggestion.
A good group that can be indicated by election or by yourself, or by poll.
Is the problem of opening the game in GMT.
Names like, scrappitt, timberwolf, simplysheik, supreme, Dr_house, and others that might have indicated. I have not had the pleasure of playing with Lara_croft, Carla (1 time in the old field). Other good players such as people's responsibilities could be part of that list of names.
People who play often in certain hours hopeless2.
As I said, is just a suggestion.
Now, give a break time for me.
Thanks

I have one suggestion about in-game chat.
It would be good to have some command with which we can talk only with out team mates, why I think that this is important?
Well, in CTF, I would like to say to my team mates were is the flag of opposite team, it's happened in my first CTF match that I have my flag so I can't to take other flag which was near me and I would like to say sakir where is it. I know that opposite team can see their flag on radar...
Here is another situation, I have flag of opposite team (in that situation they can't see where is their flag) and I came to home but our flag wasn't there, and I want to say that I will hide myself near our base but I don't want that opposite team see that
Or some other situations like: Stay and defend our base... Etc.
So that comand can look like this: > team Stay and defend our base
What do you think about this?

Tanweer,

Multiple limits is a bad idea because that's an open door to people with bad attitude.
The default limit is 10 flags and you can change it to 20.
Do you want to change the limit to 5?

Not to mention I had o wait to turn my pc back on 'cause my bro said he saw a HUGE bolt of electricity streak across the living room and strike the floor! Mom said I had to wait cause that was dangerous, ANY WAY, what is the > show packs for?

Don't worry about it. I never really thought about it lol ... I just figured you left because you were bored. No big deal.

The packs are a new feature Remus is working on in order to regulate the camps.

The idea, hopefully: Get all the players with bad connections playing against EACH OTHER, so the rest of us with fair to good connections can play without all the problems associated with bad connections.

Packs (I'm guessing here as a student; Remus, the teacher, can tell you more accurately), the way I understand them, are data packets. If you're not receiving the right amount of packs, then you're not getting hit with all the bullets. If you're giving too many packs, then you're shooting players in bunches.

Plus, players with too few, too many or a combination of bad packets show strange behaviors: blinking, instant strafe, walking in walls, etc.

In any case, having bad packets is a HUGE advantage for any player. If you're not receiving the right amount of packets and are giving too many, this means you're a super solider. You can dodge bullets AND shoot more than you're supposed to.

Take a look at our "top" players. They all have this in common. But they get to stay, though. Just not in my camp!

Or you can check in control panel, settings,,,,, keyboard
Note if you change the keyboard settings.

But if your keyboard has problems, you can remap the keys:
