Kill/Death Ratio

Post by Safpot »

A Kill/Death Ratio(kdr) would be wondorful for this game. Players can know how good they really are, and you could create a "noob" camp for people with a low kdr so they can play against people that are their own level. It (hopefully) shouldn't be too hard to implement. All that you have to do is start counting the number of deaths(which might be hard to do...) Anyway, I hope this idea helps!

An interesting idea.
I will extend the "Your Frags" listing with "Your Score: K/D".
Later we'll try to find the best method to save this ratio.

This is great, but it would be even better if you could include a decimal form of the kdr, i.e. KDR=2.17

Most of the teenagers playing this game don't know fractions... :baby:

Maybe in a future update.
Anyway, most of the players are interested in the real numbers.
Besides, what would you like to see: 1.5 , 15/10 or 150/100 ?
My bet is on 150/100.

The ratio in camp is an excellent idea

Ever since playing this game I've wondered why we don't have Kills/Deaths
In camp is good, But in the Top Payers list i think is a bad idea.
I think there are pros and cons for the list idea.
But i think the cons out weigh the pros.
For many reasons.

That's right.
There are 3 BIG cons:
1) the number of "deaths" was not saved in the past 2 years.
So I need to reset the scores somehow (a bad idea).
2) you cannot compare a 30/15 player with a 300/150 player.
3) looking for dead heads and easy camps is not the way to go on.

I'd actually prefer 1.59 over 226/142...

For example, let's say slapshot has a kdr of 2534:1523 and theprophet11 has a kdr of 1423:1023. It's obviously easier to compare and read them using decimals(1.66 vs. 1.39).

That's just my thinking...

Oh god, not another KDR competition! I already have to deal with it on another shooter game.....plus its a dumb idea to have camps separated by how their KDR is, there would be barely anybody good to play with, and people would miss playing with people they like to! :baby:

Actually, my idea is just one camp for people with low kdr. Anyway, the people who are qualified for that camp can always play with their friends in Free for All. It's just that the better people cannot play in the noob camp, but noobs can play in Free for All camp. I've seen some scenarios when somebody with 500 frags kill someone with 10000 frags simply because some people learn and get better faster. Players need to play with others at their own level, not based on frags, but based on skill.
