Infection (New Game Type Request)

Remus, I was wondering if you could make an infection game type. You know, where one player starts out as the infected and kills people for teammates and the last player alive becomes the infected in the next round.

This kind of "conditioned team modes" are not very good ideas because they involve wasted time.
But I have a better approach for a new Infection multiplayer mode:
- you all start as humans
- if you kill someone, after respawning he turns into monster.
- "The last man standing" gets a bonus, all the monsters turn into humans again and a new round starts.
:wink:
There is a problem with the "human <-> monster" conversion at runtime (it comes with a glitch),
but I will try to minimize it.
Do you like the idea?

saw that in the bad players forum supreme was playing as a medic woman. Do you think I could have a privlage to try it before it comes out?...just wondering.

That medic woman is the default Infection outfit.
But supreme also likes to party.
Talk to her, maybe you'll learn some tricks.

YES!!! :biggthumbsup:

That anikyox hybrid pascual suited up with armor and killed about 12 people in a row. There's just no sense in it. With the blinking and the no packs received, the bad connections already have (practically speaking) about 250 HP. Add armor on top of that and it's doubled to 500.

You literally have to kill a bad connection player 2 1/2 times to kill them once - almost impossible on a regular basis, and certainly impractical. And when they have armor, you might as well just leave the camp!

No armor in Infection. :lol:

OK.
But you should learn from them.
No matter how skilled you are, you cannot kill 3-7 players in a row without get killed at least once.
So extra life and armor is a MUST if you want more "infected" faster.

I could wear triple armor and it wouldn't matter.

I don't move like speedhack. I don't bounce. I don't move in crouch faster than people standing up. I don't mystically dodge bullets when someone's aiming directly at me. I don't stutter step and instantly end up 10 steps in the opposite direction. I don't stand there facing the wall and somehow kill the person behind me with a fire burst without ever even turning around.

I'm not pascual! :lol:

Check Timberwolf. He has an hour of Infection played and 0 Infection points! :lol:

Type the > TimberCamp command.
You'll turn into a little dwarf with 200 life.
pascual turns into a monster with double height and only 50 life.
I'm not sure about the characters for yoxrock and cins.
Please double check that.

Well, it's understandable in free for all. But Infection should be like team games, I thought.

Besides, I don't play a lot as some others, so I need my points for propacks, not armor, health, radar trifecta. :lol:

1) Infection is not a team mode.
2) the players without propacks need these extra boosts.
3) life & armor in Infection are very important
4) the spawnspots ratones can do something better here: warehouse ratones!
They kill the players coming to buy goodies. :lol:

But I might implement a new command for the session owner.
Something like: > no goodies.
So you can decide if you play with or without medkit, armor and radar.

I used my points for propacks too but life,armor and radar are important ın smc or kin

Remus. can you make the minimum number in infection 3? because that's usually the ammount that play at a time when everyone gets mad about losing.

Remus is it possibe to enter into a camp as monster because there are some players that once killed they don't stop entering and leaving the camp they just mess up the game it's really irritating

If I get many requests, you can start Infection as monster without any problem.
But the real problem is another one: the players with bad attitude!
You should kick them out of camps if they do that.

Remus, I love infection it is infectious. I had two comments:

1. As a human, as you battle your way through the camp and win successive battles you will inevitable be left in a weakened state. Even the best players will have life points taken away in each successive battle till an inferior player with 1 or two god shots takes them down. In other words there is no benefit to winning battles against monsters. If you are one of the few remaining humans, it is actually not even worth fighting monsters as you go through the camp looking for the remaining humans. Why not give a life point value to killing a monster (more than a chicken) so that at the end of your battle you are not left in such a compromised position. You reward the human survivor only not the monster survivor.

2. I have noticed that players like to reset their position after they are turned from human to monster by entering and exiting the camp. Some players do this every time they have been turned from human to monster so that they can reenter the camp as a human and have a leg up on the other players. They come in fully charged and as a human. Maybe you could make it so that when you reenter the camp you enter as a monster. Maybe you start the initial character as a monster and make the player fight to human form.

Just some thoughts.

2) As I said before, that's bad attitude. Just kick them out of camp.
The only solution to prevent that is to start as monster.
But you have to kill 3 other monsters to turn into human again.

Is there any way to essentially "lock" the action while a round is ongoing?

For example: If you enter the game while a round is still active, you walk around in limbo (basically connecting) while that round plays out. Then after it's over, it lets you in.

This might be a bad idea though. If there aren't four players in camp, you might not ever load up. :lol:

I think it's just BOOT TIME for bad attitude noobs. :biggthumbsup:

Guys, if a player does that for advantage, say their name on the forum.

I think maybe we should reset their Infection score back to 0 if they want to essentially "cheat" in the game. :twisted: :whatis:

Remus, what do you think about this idea: That in Infection there is no New Round!, cause when 3 of four are monsters and monster kill last standing human than we have New Round!, what if these 4 monsters fight to become humans and fight to the end, I think it will be more funny :wink:
E.g. If I want to win in Infection I need to be in "rat" mode, to hide myself, to kill only when it's necessary, but If I go in zone of fire as I always do, than I could be last standing human with 20HP, so my chances aren't so big to kill one monster who has full HP. Well, maybe this is silly idea but I just want opinion of you and others. :wink:

It's an option, but it's buggy.
You are all monsters, one monster turns into human and wins the round.
But next round, the same human kills a monster and wins the round again.
And that's because he is the last human standing ... :mrgreen:
So the only solution is a reset (New Round). :wink:

Spencer (My_Bullet) had also an interesting idea:
if you are human and you kill an enemy, you get a health bonus (+25 for example).

On the 2nd thought, it can be done, but only if you all start as monsters.
But even so, there is a problem:
You are all monsters.
A monster reaches 3 kills and turns into human.
But he cannot win the round because he killed as monster.
So he needs (as human) to kill again.

You could make it to where you start off as a monster when you enter, and leave it to where, after a new round each player is set as a human...
