Re: what a mess!
How many times do i have to tell you this?
This is not a game bug!
These are players with horrible connection.
The camp owner (cet23, Bratislava - Slovakia) and/or other players in that camp
have severe connection issues.
In a team match, the camp owner must have a decent internet connection.
If a player is blinking on the scoreboard, kick him out of camp!

Something that's a "bug" but isn't really a "bug" - if a player has that blinking connection, you sometimes cannot throw them out of camp.
Back when everyone used to play TFC free teams, some idiot was owning, maybe Welano, and the score saved 100 times. I typed in > idiot out 100 times and it never worked.
They're not registered as being in the camp long enough, I guess. I don't know. I just know you can't always get rid of them.
And then you better run and fill that slot right away, because they ALWAYS come back!

If they are blinking on the scoreboard it means they drop packages for seconds!
Obviously, in those seconds they don't receive any command from other players.

Re: what a mess!
Then this problem will continue, after all, players come and go, and do not know if whoever is at the top has a good connection.
I remember when I walked on that field, who was at the top was Josh, after he left, came on top of another, then another and another, until some player arrives with some bad connection (which also do not know who it was). I know some players with good connection and bad connection but do not know all. This problem will continue in that mode freeteams, because everyone who opens up the field, never stay, others go in and out always get something like dial.

On the top of that, many of them have messed up OS, buggy browser, connection suckers

What do you expect in these conditions?

Tomb Raider is about Lara Croft and it's a bonus.
Including the fake aiming (a "feature" in any 3rd person camera game).

I don't care to be wrong... unlike some people I know.
But to hide behind a box or to crouch down inside of a tower to where no one can see or hit you and still be able to shoot people - that's the most unrealistic thing about the game so far. How can your gun be pointing at center mass of a box yet you can still shoot people from across the map?

That's called "faked aiming" and YOU DON'T WANT ME TO FIX IT.
Now let's forget the fact that all the Tomb Rader games are based on auto-aiming.
But a 3rd person camera game already has a disadvantage: aiming up is a nightmare.
And that's because your character is always in front of you and you cannot see almost anything.
A workaround used in a few games is "character faded out" in this case,
but what's the point in the 3rd person camera if you do that?
Now you are asking for the 2nd disadvantage: without fake aiming you cannot aim down.
Sorry, but we're looking for fun here.
If I do that, there is no point in using a 3rd person camera anymore.
Who wants lower FPS and only disadvantages?

OMG ...Timberwolf wrote:So you're saying something was wrong with the game BEFORE tomb raider?
I see.
I told you (twice) that ALL the 3rd person camera games are based on fake aiming.
And without fake aiming, in 3rd person camera mode you CANNOT aim at all.
p.s.
All the maps have been designed for 1st person camera.
p.s.2
ALL the games based on 3rd person camera are non-realistic games.

I can understand your frustration.
And because I was always looking for a "happy Josh", here are 2 solutions for a future update:
1) realistic aiming in 3rd person mode.
A method based on camera & character positions and computed angles.
A bullshit anyway, because in 3rd person mode the camera and the character have different "screens".
2) the camp owner can force 3rd person mode for all the players.

I don't know or care about all these. All I know is this: A person ducking down in a hole behind a box cannot shoot overtop of it like a helicopter gun in the sky. I don't care how it's rationalized. It's stupid and ridiculous and makes the game retarded.
If you need to keep that mode, then the aiming cross needs to drop--or to lessen its capabilities--when a player is in CROUCH.
Standing up, fine. But when a player crouches, they're a rat anyway. They don't need the current eye in the sky.

a PM to Josh wrote:About the 3rd person mode.
As I told you before, there are 2 "issues" without fix:
a) all the maps have been designed for 1st person camera
b) in any game based on 3rd person camera, the aiming is fake because the camera and the character have different screens.
In 3rd person, "crouch" does not even exist.
Theoretically speaking, realistic aiming in 3rd person mode can be done (I'm 99% sure that I can get perfect results).
But practically speaking, if I do that I will ruin the 3rd person mode.
For example, because of the different camera and character screens, you're going to kill yourself with bombs most of the time.
And that's because you cannot estimate properly the height of an obstacle in front of your character.
Another BIG problem in case of realistic aiming in 3rd person mode is the Look Up/Look Down angle.
For your character it will be computed, but you'll have no idea about that result.
Again, you're going to kill yourself with bombs or you're going to waste bombs.

Re: what a mess!
Yeah. It's good for you guys. You all take 4, 5, 6 bullets of normal guns.
But it's shit for me. I die in 2, 3 bullets of ANY gun.
So before at least I could see who's shooting and have a chance to return fire. Now, I got nothing. They hide behind a box or duck down in the stairwell or get behind jeeps and trucks, and I die before I can even turn around and locate them.
I don't like this mode. I'm glad you guys all like it, but I think it stinks on ice.
You tomb raiders will be thrown out from my camps!

Statistically speaking (and I'm not talking only about this game):Timberwolf wrote:I don't like this mode. I'm glad you guys all like it, but I think it stinks on ice.
You tomb raiders will be thrown out from my camps!
1st person: 80-85%
3rd person: 15-20%
But I'm not talking about adventure or RTS games (3rd person fits better for these games).
All of them are based on fake aiming (and even auto-aiming ).
I am a big fan of Tomb Raider since its beginning (1996).
Josh does not love Lara Croft and I respect that.
What do you think guys?
Do you want realistic aiming in 3rd person mode in case of crouch?
(probably the main source of frustration for Josh)

My point is simple.
All you guys and girls of the game, watch this video:
http://www.h2gamer.com/CODvCT_TFCDM.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Now, if people think that you should be able to crouch behind a box and still shoot accurately, that's fine.
Me, I happen to think this is very strange and a B-U-G!
Weird, wacky stuff.

It's the eye in the sky of the 3rd person mode.
It's a new strategy.
The main problem is another one: the equal chances.
And this the only point I agree with you:
1st person vs 3rd person in a map designed for 1st person broke the "equal chances" rule.

Re: what a mess!
Even with the maps designed for 1st person camera and even with the fake aiming in 3rd person,
3rd person vs 3rd person = (almost) equal chances.
Here is a proof: You can see and kill Milan (the rat girl).

I like the 3rd person view.
Not because i can crouch behind box.
Because i'm much more aware of what's going on in camp.
Take out the aim while crouching, I don't mind.

Well, overall, here's what it is.
Now the turks have yet another advantage.
Now they have more reason to only play noobs games and not CTF or DOM.
Now people who die normally like me have even more reason to be disenfranchised about the gameplay vs. these idiots.
Bad enough they cannot be possibly be killed like normal players, now they have the added advantage of hiding like rats, shooting over fences, shooting over jeeps, shooting over the median, shooting over the gate, shooting over the boxes, shooting over the sides of castles, shooting out of the fort, etc.
John and all the tomb raider lovers - I hope you enjoy it.
But go play a DM with Counter Turkey or another one of these good team games instead of noob-kill free for all all the day and then see how it suits you.

I agree with Josh, this is bullshit.
Tomb Raider is cool in Free For All, but in team rooms where we should be equal it is not. Some noobster who are skilled 10% of me, hiding behind of boxes or at balcony and shoting and have a big chance to win.
WTF, nobody can have even the minimal chances of winning when I am playing
Who's your daddy? I am your daddy! And nobody can win against daddy

Yeah. You guys thumbs down. That's your right, definitely.
But be honest here. You guys (lenny, john, etc) play team matches about as often as Halley's comet comes around!
Here are the negatives of having this tomb raider mode in team matches:
1: It gives the worst connection players even MORE advantage from what they already had
2: It draws the game out so damn long because everyone just hides behinds boxes like it's Hide and Seek and not Hopless 2
3: It is funnelling everyone into Deathmatch only; no one wants to play CTF or DOM because they gain nothing by not being able to hide for the entire game
4: It makes for the dumbest damn videos on the planet (that's a selfish reason, sure, but it's still stupid)
5: Not everyone can play in tomb raider; some people have issues when switching into it, so you cannot go tit-for-tat in a team match
6: It creates inequality in line of fire when it actually matters; free for all is noob for all, nobody cares. But when you're playing DM and one of the hero quintuplets can shoot up a hill and over a jeep (while, remember, STILL NOT DYING BECAUSE OF BS INTERNET), it means a one-sided battle
Now, what are the benefits of this tomb raider in a team mode?
1: Hide like a rat and shoot over boxes
(For the record: I don't mind the tomb raider mode. I just think that if a player is in crouch mode, they shouldn't get to keep the aiming cross up above their heads. It doesn't make sense and it encourages rats and it's just bogus to have.)

Re: 3rd Person Mode
Clear the browser cache and reload the game.
More balanced 3rd person camera (compared to 1st person camera).
It's available in any multiplayer mode.
p.s.

Re: 3rd Person Mode
Remus now i can't see what I'm shooting, when walking straight.
Can't it be raised a little higher, just above the head
Or better still just remove the aim/cross when crouched in 3rd person mode, and leave the aim/cross where it was
