No Sound

I have a question. Why can't I hear any sound? It seems like a problem with a shockwave player but reinstalling it didn't help.

The SW plugin is not responsible for "lost" sound.
This is an OS/drivers issue.
Steps to fix it:
1) reboot
2) if that's not enough, uninstall all the crappy programs you may have and reboot.
3) if that's not enough, reinstall the audio drivers and reboot.
4) it that's not enough, reinstall DirectX (DirectSound is a component of DirectX) and reboot.

3.unplugged your pc and if you have a laptop you must also remove a battery, hehe.
4.if your problems didn't disappear then restore you comp from a system image backup.

My comp is clean, monthly controlled for malware, spyware etc. And free of software that love making problems(toolbars, codec packs etc.). So my steps are ok with me :)

Your steps might work for a CLEAN computer only.
Most of the users have a MESSED UP computer.
Every day they install and uninstall all kind of crap.
So for them only the above steps work.

It's disabled on all my computers from the very first day.
Certain viruses and trojans use the system restore points to multiply and hide themselves.
The antivirus programs cannot scan the system restore points.
So you are doomed!

Yes, you are right. The steps are good just for people who have clean PC. That's why I mentioned that my comp is problematic software free.

I used the built-in system restore point just several times. And well, I was not safisfied with it. That's why I use an image system backup made by a backup software like Acronis Home True Image or Macrium Reflect. Of course, the backups must be viruses free.
