H2MC "The Lost Temple" benchmark

Post by Remus »

The Lost Temple map (small, detailed, designed for face to face and machine guns) is under testing.
The map has NOT been optimized yet and, also, the benchmark locks the game engine to
"Smooth Motion" (the best motion quality, but slower if your FPS drops).
Between others, Hopeless 2 will come with 2 new concepts:
1) weapons set per map (for example the sniper rifle is not available in map 2)
2) max. number of players per map (for example, 4 or 6 for the 2nd map)

Anyway, here are some benchmark results after 2 days (again, the map has not been optimized):

Remus : 49-50 FPS (test machine: Core 2 Duo 2GHz, GeForce 8600GT)
Simon (Scrappitt) : 48-49 FPS in most of the areas
Karla (Carla) : 50 FPS always (Core 2 Extreme, GTX280 ... )
Josh (Timberwolf) : 35 FPS medium value
Kiren (supreme) : 30-35 FPS medium value
Milan : 20 FPS medium value (obviously, his onboard graphics card sucks)
Enes (kurt) : 24-50 FPS (another bad graphics card)
Gaurav (gcool101) : 49 FPS
Jhanzaib : "it workin well on my pc"
Jacob : 47-50 FPS
Tanweer (simplysheikh) : 45-49 FPS
Amanda (LaraCroft) : 50 FPS always (Core 2 Quad, GTX280 ... )

Not bad so far.
In any case, you'll notice a performance boost after the 1st level of optimizations.

cheers

yes it looks like a good map, since there will be other maps that may be bigger it won't matter how big the map is.....and now that I think about it a face to face only map is a good idea :)

Here are 2 excellent map "reviews":

Scrappitt:
Wow it looks amazing.
This is a classic ambush camp.
Everywhere you turn there are places for people to jump out at you.
Its gonna be a mass slaughter in there.
This is perfectly built for the face-to-face fighters (like me) and I can't see a rifle being of use.
Its gonna be fast fast fast action in there.

Timberwolf:
I love how small/confined the map is without being "crowded", necessarily.
The different levels, the few platforms and stair cases, and the hills there really make it a combat zone.
There's no real place to run. And in a full camp, there might be no place to respawn lol
There's going to be awesome frag fests in there.

Marcos (Kinho40) : 45-50 FPS (Pentium D 3.2GHz, GeForce 9400GT).

Very good result because 8600GT is faster than 9400GT.

Topz007 : 49-50 FPS (Core 2 Duo 2GHz, GeForce 8400GT).
Ionut (Dicu) : 48-50 FPS (P4 3GHz, GeForce 7200GS)
Bjorn (Sjt_Fubar) : 30 FPS medium value (Intel Mobile T7300, onboard I965)

But after the 1st round of optimizations ...

This map is pretty obvious designed to suit the brave soldiers to fight face to face with each others.

You can't hardly catch your breath or take a break while playing this map.

Nice work, Remus. :D
