Hopeless 2 (beta stage) updates

Post by Remus »

All the "NFplayers" are invited:
http://www.infdat.com/hopeless2.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
note 1: the new characters need more work, so you'll use the old ones.
note 2: RPG-7 and Dragunov are available for testing purposes only.
note 3: the access is restricted to these players: http://www.infdat.com/hopeless2/HMC.php?op=top" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

have fun

Two corrections for the starting v0.9 beta:
- better damage for pistol and shotgun
- real sound for Colt-45

Two new links:

http://www.infdat.com/hopeless2/DeathMatch.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

beta 0.91

- another round of geometry corrections (curved surfaces)
- falling damage fixed (different trigger)
- no more Radar when you enter the camp
- now G-3 (the machine gun) is the default weapon
- two more G-3 ammo packs

Note: you still have the Dragunov (12 rounds) and RPG-7 (6 rockets) just for fun.

I think the extra ammo packs have balanced the map and players are using all of the area in camp now.
Nice one

Glad to hear.
I sent Kiren a PM (with this gift).
But this is a "legacy" level.
The upcoming 3rd one is really amazing!
This year for sure!

Jacob,
As I said many times before, after the beta stage is done, the databases will be merged.
Don't worry, you won't lose any frag.

beta 0.96 came with a few bug fixes plus POSITIVE frags for the rocket launcher (RPG-7)!

My friend,
as I said, new maps are great but I noticed that something is missing, and that is another weapon, something like MG3 or M16, to be strong, have a strong sound, when i gone mad to raise the adrenaline ...

I do not know what are your opportunities to that kind of weapons be in the game ...

I think Milan wants something like this for his birthday.
The XM214 Automatic Gun (aka the Minigun)

With one of these you could get as many frags as Kurt.
You might impress Carla enough to win her heart as well.

OMG ... Milan, what's wrong with you?
How many times do i have to repeat myself?
Initially I said 4 weapons (pistol, shotgun, machine gun and sniper) in the 1st weapons set.
Now you have the 5th weapon (RPG-7) in the first set.
After the first official release, MORE weapons are coming.
One of them is M-249:
Hopeless2_M249.jpg
It has the same old MG-3 sound ...
I have a set of over 80 realistic weapons already optimized and ready to be used.
But these days I have to do many other much more important things ...

beta 0.99

The 6th weapon (and the 2nd machine gun): M-249

Warning: if you play with someone using the older version, you may expect browser crashes.
Reason: a new weapon is broadcasted and the older version does not understand what's going on.
It's expecting a sword, javelin or a bow.

More corrections in beta 1.01:

1) Names and Colors in Team Deatmatch
Your team members are listed with (light) blue, the opponents are listed with (light) red.

2) In Free Teams and Team Deathmatch you start with the following amount of ammo:
- pistol: 100
- shotgun: 100
- G-3 machine gun: 200
- sniper: 60
- RPG-7 rockets: 36
- M-249 machine gun: 200

3) Free Teams can be accessed by registered players only.
Reason: the score is automatically saved (at 50 frags) and no one wants to see "player" on the table.
Of course, all the beta-testers are registered players.

Yes Tanweer,

The current one is a highly optimized infinite loop soundtrack (250KB only) composed by ...
the undead creature.
More soundtracks (and a music selector) in the future updates.
In fact, this is a part of the game sound engine (it's not a simple melody).
We can have different soundtracks for various objectives on the map (warehouse, castle, high scores table, etc)

I thought about that (in-game selector instead of main menu selector).
Very cool.
In Hopeless 1 there is an in-game slot machine!
But I have to study the extra processing power required for that MusicBox.
The players don't want lower frame rate because of a MusicBox.

beta 1.24
More corrections for the Team modes:
1) 100 frags limit for 4_vs_4 Free Teams, 50 frags limit for anything above 2_vs_2 Free Teams.
In case of Team Deatmatch, the frag limits are the same:
- 20 frags for 1_vs_1
- 30 frags for 2_vs_2
- 40 frags for the rest
2) after the match is done you don't have to leave the camp anymore.
The scoreboard is automatically reset after 5 seconds.
You can start a new match after 10 seconds.

As I promissed: the VOTE mechanism!
Now you can kick out the players with bad attitude or horrible connection.
He must be voted 3 times by 3 different players.

Example:
supreme, Timberwolf and Scrappitt want to punish Terminator.
They must send this command line:
> Terminator out
After that, Terminator is kicked out of the camp.

Come on Milan ... an intelligent folk like you to ask such stupid question.
There is a HUGE difference between an ordinary text line and a command line.
An ordinary text line does not mean anything.
A command line launches the words processor.
Because the same chat environment is used for both of them, you must inform the word processor
that you'll send a command.

Milan out does not mean anything.

My friend, as I said before, I'm not a genius for computers, this game is my first online game, I have never before played something like this, I have never had a chat inside the game, thanks to Kiren and other I have learned lot of things, like bcz = because, v = very, u = you, r = are... thanks to you now i know what "good pc" has to have (what kind of graphic card, procesor...)..... but guided by the logic, I assumed that right arrow has to be there, but for each case to ask...

beta 1.26

Starting with this version, the session owner (the 1st listed player) can lock/unlock the camp.
Requirements:
- he needs more than 500 frags
- 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 in Team Deathmatch, 2v2 and 3v3 in Free Teams

Command syntax:
To lock the camp: > camp lock
To unlock the camp: > camp unlock

Additional notes:
- if the session owner leaves the camp (ESC or lost connection), the camp becomes UNlocked.
- the session owner can unlock the camp in any condition
- if a new player wants to join a locked camp, he will get the message:
Access Denied (the camp is locked)!
- if the session owner has bad attitude, 3 other players can kick him out with: > username out

beta 1.29

1) a new command: > break time
You can take a break, but no more than 3 minutes and only once (per camp).
Requirements:
- more than 500 frags
- 100 life units (or more)
The players in "pause mode" are listed in gray.

2) Day/Night modes for all the maps.

3) Now, from Heaven or Hell you can chat.

:pompom:
Locked
