Clear the browser cache and reload the game.
The in-game video player has been enabled.
It's still in beta stage, a single short movie, but I'm sure you'll like it.
Get in front of the poster (close enough) and press the Use/Action key (by default "U").
Using the same key you can switch back to Poster.
:P

Usually, a 3D game running at the same time with a MP4/H.264 decoder is a processor killer.
Not this time.
The FPS drop is a minor one.

Another v2.45 update: more balanced gameplay
No more Life, Damage & Range boosts.
Here are the new ranks: http://www.infdat.com/hopeless2/ranks.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

note 1: with Pro Package you still get a boost, but only +10%

note 2: the players marked "BadCon" have the life limited to 100 and no accuracy boost.

I believe 'more balanced' would be to reduce someone's accuracy with the more frags that they get
Let's make it harder for the better players
This would certainly make it more interesting

what! you gotta be kidding "Scrappitt" do you want to create bad game play? It will have a Opposite effect? my accuracy 80% but i don't even get that with most players because of their connection problems? I'M shooting them but it seems with little less damage i have to use more bullets too?
my bullets run out faster too then i have to try and get more!

Negative ranks?
That's a crap.
We have a bunch of daily players, but 95% of them are in the Beginner camps.
Including veterans ... :whatis:
The current ranks are much more balanced.
A player with 500 frags has the same life, damage & range as tina.
Now I don't see any reason to leave a camp with veterans if you are a noob.

Yes, 3 instead of 2.
That's because there is no damage boost anymore.
But a long time ago you needed 4 shotgun shots to kill someone.

zesuga wrote:Old players are just meatball to the newbies. that's fucking good.
That's great.
It means 2 things:
1) you'll see more players in the "normal" camps
2) those old players suck (you can find them in the beginner camps: noob killers!)

Talking about Winchester vs pistol:
1) +25% damage
2) +30% accuracy
3) +30% range
Two shotgun head shots are enough to kill anyone.

No it's not happening the same.
And I just told you the differences.
The pistol is good only if the target is very close to you.

shotguns and 3 (or 2 in the head), do not work with badcons.
else, the Propack ammo, only works for the x29 (or aw50, Winchester), every time I'm out of bullets, spending with players immortal :whatis:

Sorry Aldinho, but you are wrong.
You did not like double damage.
You did not like +50% damage.
Now you have the initial damage.
Now all the players have the same life, damage and range.
The gameplay is much more balanced.

The veterans still have 3 important advantages: regeneration, ammo and accuracy.
Compared with a 500 frags player, you have:
+50% regeneration, +70% ammo and +70% accuracy.
It's more than enough.

Because Aldinho is "the young and the restless" and because he is always looking for more ammo:
Clear the browser cache and reload the game.

Hmm, I think your idea Remus was good. Balanced game is needed. But, I noticed that after the range removal and cutting off the ammo only few players are playing ABC now. Now lots of people are starting to play NCY again. I tried yesterday to play ABC in several occasions but no one was there. Then I tried my luck in NCY and there was three full camps. Even veterans like Topz, tina, JackFrost, slapshot were playing there. Something must be done. Maybe we could get extra points if we play several camps and not only one. Maybe you need to "forces" us to play more camps. Anyway that is something to think about.

1) There was no range removal.
No more range boost. All the players have the same range now, the default one.
2) the amount of ammo has been reduced before the release of NCY and ABC.
3) NCY provides better frame rate than ABC
4) In the past 2 months we had over 1.5 million new players.
In a couple of months you'll find hundreds of them in the "normal" camps.

Sorry Remus but you forgot the most important advantage that veterans have, Experience!
The normal camps if you can find them are more balanced than ever and I for one applaud this update.

I do have the same problem as the Prof though, I rarely seem to find people in ABC which to me is by far the best camp we have. Altough NCY is a nice camp it is overun with crappy connections which spoil it. There are also too many people in there for my liking as this makes tactical play very difficult.
I understand that there are many people whom prefer this crazy shoot'em up for hours and hours as it is good for their frag count but it isn't for me.

Just my opinion

I did not forget and I totally agree with you.
But you should tell those veterans about that "experience".
Because, as you can see, a few of them are asking for more range, ammo and damage.
When they already have +70% more ammo than a 500 frags player.

As I stated after its release, ABC is a problematic map.
All the large city maps (due to their structure) have performance issues in any 3D engine.
On the other hand, NCY is a map highly optimized for best performances.
Obviously, the bad connections look even worse in small maps (due to their chaotic movement).

Anyway, every day I find dozens of unregistered players with over 100 frags in ABC.
That tells everything.

I am not talking about unregistered players with 100 + points. I am talking about players that have name and rank here. There is nobody to play with in ABC camp even this morning (UTC +1 time zone)! I am not interested in playing noname players because after being killed 3 times in a row they runaway and there is no play after that. I think you should encourage players to play all the camps or at least 3 camp in seven days. You could do that by rewarding them with some extra points or punish them if they don't play with reduction of points. I don't mean with the points they have but reward and deduction on points they are collecting in camps at that momment (e.g. if I kill Top007 (sorry Topz) I get 20 points in curent conditions and if I play only one camp I get 10 points, two camps 15 points and all the 3 camps 20 points!)

My dear Einstein,
The purpose of this update was more balanced gameplay.
More than 95% of the daily players are unregistered.
They like ABC (50%), NCY (25%) and SMC (15%).
The registered players like NCY.
Why?
It's obvious: fast frags and good FPS value.
I'm not interested in forcing the players to play a certain map.
The 12th map is on the way btw.
I'm interested in 2 things:
1) to bring more players into the game
2) to bring more players into the "normal" camps in the near future.
And the last 2 months were the BEST months in the 2.5 years history of this game.

You are doing a great job.
Most of the browser based games are almost dead 6-12 months after their release.
Hopeless 2 is still growing after 2.5 years!
Here is the Top10 countries (Google ranking) on october-november 2011 (1.5 million players):
1) USA
2) Russia
3) Turkey
4) Philippines
5) Thailand
6) Denmark
7) Germany
8) Canada
9) Sweden
10) United Kingdom

:pompom:
Do you propose to me to play as unregistered player? I think those players just come and go. Only few of them stick around to play the game like I did. I was collecting my points to buy my first pro pack for a couple of months. I played all camps but most of the time I played in Mercenery Camp. This is a big camp too. But this was the challange for me to kill some top level player just to earn the points needed to collect pro weapons. In big camps you can develope your tactics and style while in small camps is just chip and charge (more points if you are bad conn or cheater). I thought they banned the bull fighting nowdays
And one last thing THANK YOU for the compliment (Einstein)

As usual, 10,000 points to that one who "decodes" the map codename: TGY

Clear the browser cache and reload the game.
I had to fix a bug related to both shotguns.

p.s.
I'm really sorry you cannot use the new button in the maps selector.
But the current version is not quite v2.45

v2.46

The 12th map has been included: The GraveYard (codenamed TGY).
Crazy action on multiple layers (including underground and roofs).

Have fun.
