please Remus make clear this issue for me

Post by claudio90 »

Hello Remus. I want ask you...depends how many programs or games I have installed on my computer? For example, without thinking to 10 basic programs, like microsoft office, drivers for computer, printer and others, if I have 6 games or programs which are installed on my computer, for example at least 800 MB large/one, definetly my computer will work slowly, and if i have 2 GB RAM Memory. Am I right? I refer ''slowly'' in this game. Or??? Otherway, 2 GB RAM Memory and G-Force 6800 video card for nothing if computer is full of installed programs and games. Yes or no? Can I obtain a good FPS having 1 GB RAM and not many installed programs?

Best regards for our master,

Claudiu,

The programs installed on your computer don't count at all
(as long as they are not running at the same time).
2GB of RAM for Windows XP is perfect.
When you play a multiplayer browser 3D game, the following things are very important:
- close all the other browser windows or tabs (they eat RAM and processing power for nothing).
- close all the other network suckers (messengers, chat, etc)
- be sure your graphics card is a decent one (GF6800 is ok)
- turn OFF the AntiAliasing (see the Nvidia Control Panel)
- double check the background processes (Taskbar / Right Mouse click / Task Manager).
Be sure you don't run other useless processor & RAM suckers.

that's all.

Thank you Remus. At work I have cheap computer, at home a little better, but still not good for 3D games. 500MB RAM, Graphic card probably "no name" :stop: I have also one laptop Acer Extensa 5220 , momentary indisponible with next caracteristics:
Intel Celeron processor 530
(1.73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 1 MB L2 cache )
- 15.4" WXGA Acer CrystalBrite LCD Monitor
- Up to 64 MB Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
- 512 MB DDR 2
- 80 GB HDD
- DVD-RW Super Multi DL
- 802.11 b/g WLAN

...still only 1 GB RAM, and think not good one graphic card.

Can I do something with my computer??? I mean to change from 500 MB RAM to 2GB RAM, and graphic card to buy one decent like GF 6800. If are possible... it will working for good FPS value on necromanthus??? :worship:

An upgrade from 512MB to 2GB RAM, and a cheap GeForce 8600GT instead of that very bad onboard Intel graphics is all you need.

A laptop is a dead piece of meat because you cannot upgrade the graphics card.
Double check if you have (at least) 2GB of RAM.

hola remus

Felipe,

As I said before, Hopeless 2 is very complex application.
Because of the multi-map, multi-characters and weapons, all of them dynamically allocated,
you need a significant RAM amount for best performances.
The Shockwave plugin has a memory leak.
Adobe is aware of that, they have to fix it.
On Windows XP you need 2GB RAM to stay out of troubles.
On Windows 7 you need more than 2GB ... :|

I don't even know what's going on when it comes to computer stuff, but I do know that Remusware is far more trustworthy than all this other crap out there!
Shockwave 3D (plugin) is NOT an open source.
Adobe is the owner.
Do you want to see me fighting with Adobe's horde of attorneys?

The fastest and the most stable browser (to play games) is IE6.
To install IE6 on Windows 7, you need the IE6-XPSP3.exe VPC Image:
