Only the keyboard layout is saved.
Other settings ... maybe in a future game update.
Which other settings are you interested to be saved?

Starting today, the keys layout is automatically saved (and loaded) for all the players.
Even for unregistered players!

1) that's impossible (it can be done, but it's a bad move).
There are many players from schools, libraries, ...
There are many brothers sharing the same computer ...
So the username and password canNOT be stored locally.
2) it's already available
3) the Special FX and HD mod layout is a temporary one (5 changes in the past 3 weeks  )
These are "under development" features.
They will be included when they will be done.
4) it will be included soon.

1. I think it could be done. It could be done with a web browser popup asking me if I want to save a username and password.
2. yes, it really works. Great.

So now I must be patient and wait for the other features I'd like to see here.

If this means I don't have to set my keys when the game is updated :?:
Sounds like a good idea
