Tournament Rules?

Guys, what are we thinking for tournament rules?

Give your opinions:

Firstly, I think each pair gets to select their own rules. Landmines, yes or no; which map to play; etc.

Any other rules we should have? Like leaving the match too many times, etc?

No Landmines.. No 3rd person

in NCY

The only rule that there should be is in which map we will play all matches. One pair can't play in one map and another pair in another map. One map for all.
And rule about 3rd mode and landmines can't be established cause this are an official matches not friendly where you can have a deal about yes/no landmine and 3rd mode.

Here everyone plays their game in their own way

Landmines? NO (We need to know Talent here)
3rd Person? yes & no (whatever)
Maps are FZC, NCY, TFC, would be good.
:agree:

Why one map? That doesn't make sense when we have 10 maps available.

It should be up to the people playing which map they select.

If someone wants to play in AZT or TLT or TLC rather than NCY, then they should be able to. If not, why do we have 10 maps?

Using one map only is the same as using one weapon only.

We're not looking for the NCY winner. :baby:

Yes that's true but what if you want to play in e.g. NYC and your opponent in TFC? Who is going do a favor to opponent, you or he? If we have one map than nobody can discuss with an opponent...

This is a tricky one.
Talking about recording movies, Josh's idea is a good one.
But talking about a tournament, Milan is right.
And also don't forget something very important:
A victory in NCY or FZC does not have the same "weight" as a victory in TFC or EGT.
And a tournament should not allow "cheap" victories.

1. Only the selected/decided maps should be allowed for the tournament.
2. Map(s) can be 1 or 3 and maps should be same for all. So that all would have equal chance of playing/winning.
3. No landmines/3rd person rules should be forced. If someone don't want to use landmine for himself then its his choice but he cannot force other player.
4. The only rule i think is wait for start of the match and finish in specific day or week in specified attempts.

I think the best approach (for all) is the following:
the best of 3 matches in 3 different fixed maps wins the round.
So the scores can be only 2-0 or 2-1.
Also, 3 maps are enough to include the favorite maps of most of the players.

To edit, convert, shrink, load, create a page, launch - it takes me about 3 hours per 1 video.

If I'm going to invest so much time to air the tournament so that we can all watch the results, it would be stupid to only have the 1 map.

Here are the maps that show well on video: AZT, TFC, TLT, NCY

I think we need to make a list of all the matches, get the ok from the players playing, and then set the pairs.

After we set the pairs, we can give them a chance to figure out in which map they want to play.

If one answers and the other doesn't, oh well. If one doesn't want to play in one place, but another wants another, oh well. They have to reach an agreement. REmus will decide!

What if they both don't want NCY but that was the only option? It's still the same thing.

Not everyone's going to get what they want. When I played last time vs. zoldyck, I had no sniper rule, no bomb (grenade) rule, and had to play as ratone hunter.

Showing the videos of the tournaments is just as important as hosting the tournament in my opinion. Last tournament sucked because no one could watch. We all just had to wait for results only. Now, we can watch action of every match.

Who here does not want to see all the matches of 1vs1?

its not kids exam in which we give options to students that answer any 1 out of 4, these days there are no options. either pass or fail. if someone dont want to play then he can quit the tournament. Map or maps should be decided on vote basis before tournament and that would be final and fair approach. Else i would come up one day like enes_bugat and say remus please my match in egt ok.. please remus please .. we dont want this kind of crap.

So every thing should be clean and clear before tournament.

For your videos, you can set up free teams or friendly matches.

For tournament there should be strict rules else player/team would be out.
In my opinion 3 maps per player would be fair.

How can you be sure if those results are fake or not?

In any case, random draw is an option starting with Round 3.

I'm thinking, World cup tournament
Group stages, Players 1,9,17,25 group A camp NCY, or
Group stages, Players 1,9,17,25 group A, each player play's 1 game against one of the players in his group, in each camp NCY,FZC,TFC
GS 2,10,18,26.....and so on
1st and 2nd players from each group.
Move on to quarter finals (were Josh can get his video camera out0  (this could be a prize for reaching the finals)

I agree with Josh, we have 10 camp, maybe 6 or 8 camps are suitable.
Playing the tournament in one camp (although fair) is a crap idea.(boring)

The camp (for each match) should be preditermined by Remus or the Moderators
If you dont like the campTUFF LUCK

We have to loosen up with so many "rules" about the tournament. This can't be a dictatorship or one of those stupid theocracies stuck in 200BC.

Part of the reason the tournament fell through last time and took a year to finish was because it was boring. Now we have a chance for it to be exciting.

If two players--say topz and john for example--get to play against one another and they both want to play VIP, then what sense does it make to say "no, you must play in NCY"?

As long as players are staying within a framework of rules, like not cheating, then, if both players in the match agree to certain terms, they should be allowed to play where they want.

That's not allowed.
The moderators will nominate 3 maps for every round.
In this way we can include all the maps for this tournament.
The players canNOT play in another map, because the victories must have the same "weight" for all the players.

Banned/unbanned players, players with borrowed passwords canNOT participate at tournaments and at that list are: drogba71, turk_askeri, nokta, kalkanbebek, mucaht2. xxxfacexxx, zzaday and so on and so on.... And NOBODY will change this so don't insist because it will be waste of our time.

Only honest players are invited at this tournament!

Milan will rebuild the tournament starting table (a few active veterans are missing).
Meanwhile, the moderators are invited to nominate the maps for the 1st round.
3 nominations for each moderator.
My vote counts only if there are more than 3 maps with the same number of votes.
