All told, I had fired (I counted -- twice!!) 107 (One-hundred-seven!) bullets and had not killed her. In fact, I only hit her 2 or 3 times.
That's normal.
At long distance, the machine guns have bad accuracy.
Only the sniper rifle (with Scope = ON) has 100% accuracy at any distance.
Talking about accuracy, this is the order:
- sniper rifle
- rocket launcher (but you need to "calculate" the trajectory  )
- shotgun
- pistol
- machine guns

Kiren is a cheater, but we are not talking about her in this topic.
Why don't you perform this test:
- use the TFC map (many white walls at medium distances).
- pick up a wall, use all the weapons at various distances.
- check out the bullet decals.
You'll get an idea about the accuracy of every weapon.

p.s.
In the real life, at long distances a gunner has no chance against snipers.
So this game is not so bad after all ...

Timberwolf wrote:At least maybe you can consider this.

Using any one of a number of infinite scenarios, there are times when it's going to be other weapons vs. the sniper. The sniper is king balls. We all know that. But it's not meant to be THE weapon to end all weapons is it?

I mean, everyone has switched to sniper now and it's MEGA deadly! Almost ridiculous in its effectiveness. People in TFC and the small camps run around using the sniper rifle instead of the machine guns because it's so incredibly easy to get a headshot.

Decrease the head zone and we'll see which players are the "real life" snipers.
In the real life, Dragunov has 10 rounds per magazine.
In this game it has 12.
If you want "more gunners and less snipers", I can see only 2 viable options:
1) to decrease the ammount of ammo for Dragunov
2) to make them pay points for extra sniper ammo

Yes, make head area difficult to aim from far without scope :P, head area could be reduced or in other words headshot area .. hehe

Well, when you post all realistic things, Dragunov sniper has killing range > 3000 meters... :baby:

One, two, Freddy's coming for you.
Three, four, better lock your door.
Five, six, grab your crucifix.
Seven, eight, gonna stay up late.

3km??? Maybe in your dreams ...
The effective ranges in combat situations have been stated at between 600 to 1,300 m
Also, here are some range reports: http://www.dragunov.net/range_reports.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(bad accuracy above 800m).

Now talking about game, the default range is 1100 units.
Milan, with his +10% Range Mod has a range of ...
Of course, don't forget the most important thing:
"Something very realistic is not funny at all".

That's the main idea: they are not realistic at all and they are very funny.
Do you expect me to fix your computer and their internet connection?

I found that range is 2624 feet (800 meters). (Muzzle velocity 2720 ft/sec (829m/sec) Kill range is claimed to be in excess of 3000 m using the powerful 7.62X54 round...

But I can not hit someone on other side of KIN map (with one and other side of warehouse)... Appears to be close to but is not, I have to run and run... Resounds in my head: "Run Forrest, run..."

Milan,
