When someone kills him/herself in CTF, it gives the other team a point.
This is bogus I think.
There's SO MUCH that goes into getting both flags to your base. It's hard work.
Suicide should maybe cause the flag carrier to lose his or her flag on the ground (regardless of who it is, so long as it's on the team), but I don't know if it should be an entire point for the opposite team.
I was playing today COD vs. ST and I was froze completely. I just started clicking the mouse, and unbeknownst to me, I had the bombs out. I ended up killing myself mistakingly and giving the other team a point.
If this was a big-time close match, that slight mishap on my end could cost my team the game. I don't think that's kosher for a CTF match.
Possible CTF suicide deterrents besides giving an entire point away:
-100 point deduction
All teammates take -30% life hit
Flag carrier loses flag and it respawns randomly atop one of the three water tanks/silos
Player must wait 20 seconds to respawn
Player loses all ammo but 60 G3
Some of these would be a big deterrent, but none would effect the game so much as giving a point to the opposite team.
