More than 8 team members?
The question is raised: Would it be advantageous to have more than 8 members on a team?
Would it not be better to have 12 team members. so when more players are on line more matches can be played?
For example: say a team has 12 members and all 12 are on-line. with 11 rooms more matches can take place in any arrangement of 4vs4 or 2vs2.
What do you all think?

I think that Kiren (supreme) has better chance to get marry then this to happenslapshot wrote: For example: say a team has 12 members and all 12 are on-line.
If I remember well, we asked Remus to do this he said no, that was long time ago. I think he said it's better to have more teams then more players in one team.
It could be nice and bad idea.
Depends which kind of players you have in that "12 members team", active or inactive...

Good idea Slap
A long time ago, My idea was to have a coalition, were 4 teams can enter camp and play 2 teams v 2 teams, or 1 team v 2 teams
I got the impression, Remus thought it it wasn't possible or not a good idea
2 years ago i thought it was a good idea, and i still do

That's Free Teams, otherwise it doesn't make any sense.Lenny wrote:A long time ago, My idea was to have a coalition, were 4 teams can enter camp and play 2 teams v 2 teams, or 1 team v 2 teams
Did you ever see a match "Manchester" vs "Arsenal + Chelsea"?

but they have the luxury of a 20+ squad with 11 player's on the field
ATM this isn't a luxury this game has

Mixing registered teams is not possible (and it doesn't make any sense anyway).Lenny wrote:but they have the luxury of a 20+ squad with 11 player's on the field

But this topic is about something else:
is it useful to raise the number of team members from 8 to 10 or 12?
In my opinion is not (and we had a discussion on this subject a long time ago).
Big teams = worthless groups of players.
In other words, why do you need to keep the inactive team members?
But if many of you ask for 10 or 12 players per team, that's fine with me.

Re: More than 8 team members?
My idea was 2 player's from 3 or 4 teams, playing CTF/DOM= more 4v4 matches.
Maybe 4 player's from 4 different teams, play CTF/DOM
e.g. Lenny/Sootie V Scrappit/or77
we are all team player's
This would make matches alot easier to set up.
I can't see how this would be a bad thing

So you are asking for Free Teams in CTF and Domination.Lenny wrote:My idea was 2 player's from 3 or 4 teams, playing CTF/DOM= more 4v4 matches.

Re: More than 8 team members?
I thought this topic was about increasing the number of player's in each team, and in turn increasing the number of team matches played.Remus wrote:But this topic is about something else
This is just another idea to do that.
NoRemus wrote:So you are asking for Free Teams in CTF and Domination
Free Teams is for anybody with an account
I'm saying only for team members
I see many player's in camp that i would enjoy playing a good game of CTF/DOM
Both of us finding a team mate isn't easy, most of the time.
I'm just thinking, it makes the team games more accessible, which is a good thing.

It's the same thing: Greens vs Yellows.Lenny wrote:No

Restricting the access only to those with registered team won't change anything.
We cannot have better registered teams with this approach.
On contrary ...

8 players to a team, would it not be better to have 12 team members. so when more players are on line more matches can be played like!
example say a team has 12 members and all 12 are on-line. with 11 rooms more matches can take place in any arrangement of 4vs4 or 2vs2 ?
Domination 4vs4
Capture the flag 2vs2
Team deathmatch 2vs2
free team 4vs
there would be many variation to game play - for rooms
Remus said i quote:
The mechanism behind the team modes is able to deal with 8vs8 matches.
10-12 players per registered team might be a good idea.

Re: More than 8 team members?
Do we have atleast 2 active teams with atleast 4 players online on each team at same time with having 8 members per team?? That you are suggesting more than 8 like we have 8 members online in each team daily. You won't find a single team with even 4 members on at same time .JackFrost wrote:8 players to a team, would it not be better to have 12 team members. so when more players are on line more matches can be played like!

Re: More than 8 team members?
No supreme i don't think we do! and thats the reason to have 12 members because many have different time zones and can't be on at same time or even same day! that is the point? so 4 more members to a team may help to have more matches? more team members will be on like! instead of just-saying 3- we would stand a better change of 4 players being on-line and if we get lucky 8-12 . i myself think it would helpsupreme wrote:Do we have atleast 2 active teams with atleast 4 players online on each team at same time with having 8 members per team?? Let's raise the limit from 8 to 10 players per team and see how it goes.JackFrost wrote:No supreme i don't think we do! and thats the reason to have 12 members because many have different time zones and can't be on at same time or even same day! that is the point? so 4 more members to a team may help to have more matches? more team members will be on like! instead of just-saying 3- we would stand a better change of 4 players being on-line and if we get lucky 8-12 . i myself think it would help

Having said these, I can't see how it could be a bad thing.
So yes 10 team player's

Big team is worthless group of players. Why?
Take a look at the team table, only first 7 teams have active players, even they are not active often. I understand JackFrost's reasons, big team = more active players, yeah maybe they will be active for a week or two but what after that?
If you guys want active players then reduce your teams and inactive players

Re: More than 8 team members?
the big question is:
1 - players who usually play on that same time (GMT)
Not all players are played on that same time.
About free matches:
I watch players in and out of fields freeteams, every hour and every moment, a real back-and-coming, and are changing colors all the time.
it's very difficult, a team to begin and end in the same match.
So if you can so when old players decide among themselves, play a match.
