Why is immortality even allowed? I don't see how anyone can find any joy in the game if they can't die.If someone can't die, why avoid gunshots? If I ever reach that level, I would just start over with a new username.
On that same note: how is it that I die after getting shot a few times, yet for me to kill them it requires much more ammo.By "them", I mean other players in general. For example, i get shot with a shotgun 2 or 3 times, and I die.But for me to kill THEM with a shotgun, I have to shoot more than just 2 or 3 times.

99% of these "immortals" are not cheaters.lager wrote:Why is immortality even allowed? I don't see how anyone can find any joy in the game if they can't die.If someone can't die, why avoid gunshots? If I ever reach that level, I would just start over with a new username.

There is a HUGE difference between playing a multiplayer game and downloading a file.
When you download a file, a corrupted or a dropped data packet is downloaded again.
In a multiplayer game that operation is impossible.
You cannot freeze the game in order to resend an older data packet.
As general rule: cheap computer (low FPS value) + bad connection = "immortal".
These players are unable to receive & process all the data packets.
Obviously, that means they don't receive all your bullets.
There are also "immortals" with decent computer & connection.
But their computer is bloated with crap: network suckers in background, multiple browser windows open, etc
Their decent connection turns into a horrible connection.
player with horrible connection = "immortal"
And finally: players from over 95 countries access the same server.
That's nice, but there is also a price for that:
many countries have bad connection (routes) to Chicago - USA.

Re: immortality
This is the frustration of many good connection players. I suggest that you request "Elite" status, and if you are active enough, then request the bonus.lager wrote:Why is immortality even allowed? It does help to level the playing field.

Re: immortality
lager immortality is a big problem for sure? now you may get Elite status, and the bonus. but end-up losing it like me!
just today bosco was a immortal killing me like crazy! i even used D/S on him? but he still killed me. so nothing i could do about it, but just leave the room? he has a very bad connection as some others do. i could not even see him at times, and when i shot him more times, he still didn't die! deamuel was almost the same way. but i did get a few shots killed him some.

Both of them have terrible connection:
bosco : 796ms ping (!!!) and 40 errors in his last camp.
deamuel : 215ms ping and 7 errors in his last camp.
Any ping value above 160ms generates (more or less) "immortals".
Nothing to do about that.
The main problem is that bosco and deamuel are faithful players with good attitude.
But if they really mess up the camp, use > N out

You only lost Elite and Bonus due to inactivity. As long as you maintain > 500 frags per month, you qualify for both.JackFrost wrote:lager immortality is a big problem for sure? now you may get Elite status, and the bonus. but end-up losing it like me!

Correct. Just pointing out the new rules. An apology (at minimum) would be required before requesting anything.supreme wrote:He lost it before requesting because of bad attitude!slapshot wrote:You only lost Elite and Bonus due to inactivity. Re: immortality
And a good attitude for Elite player is must as that makes him/her Elite without the given title.
