Commodore Problem

Post by Timberwolf »

Remus,

You already know my Commodore 64 has some serious issues, but lately they've gotten worse.

On my POS Vista, there's this drive activity light thing. When I go into camp, it goes from blinking every second or so to blinking about 100 times every second.

And sometimes it will lock up completely. When this happens, my PC freezes and after 3 minutes or so, I'll receive a pop-up message that says something like, "Shockwave has encountered a problem bla bla failure yada yada, continue? Yes or No"

(It used to do this before but not nearly as bad)

But by the time this happens, my PC is coming out of freeze and, as soon as I can move my mouse cursor, the message disappears and I'm back in camp readjusting to the environment. My FPS will be stuck between 1 and 5/50 for about 7 minutes or so, and everything's just out of whack.

When this happens to my PC, people in the camp view me as a bad connection. Carla, Supreme, Musoi, and others have told me that my player goes through walls, in and out of camp, etc.

Anything I can do to stop the freezes in camp or to at least have my player act normal while my PC recovers?

I'm guessing the answer is "NO" and that my PC has really just finally almost completely died and there's no hope.

I bet you run Vista on 1GB RAM.
You need 2GB RAM (or more).

I tried

I purchased that new graphics card for $80 and it never worked at all. I bought 1GB of extra memory, but after installing it I don't think it took. It still reads that I have 1GB.

Dumb computer! :smash:
