"Hard to kill" does not mean cheater.
Anyway, I just checked him again.
I found him with bad connection, but OK.
I also talked to John_H and mansterickle (in the same camp).
They told me that selcinyo is hard to kill, but not faster.
As I said several times before, kick out of camps the players with horrible connections.

This one first denied anything was wrong, then once he was thrown from camp, he came back and blamed it on the library computer. So I guess the little ol' librarian tweaked the Hopeless stats on a game engine in anticipation that someone would come by and, instead of studying on the PC, choose to play a browser-based first-person shooter.

Well, I hope he doesn't use it again. This was one of those SpeedHacks that don't even try to hide the fact they're cheating! It was 100 miles per hour and 6 sniper shots per second.

I have to contend with "cheaters" in my line of work constantly. From copy/pasters and rewriting software users to plagiarizers and outright thieves, folks are always trying to get ahead. They're losers, none of whom can actually compete on their merits in an open market.

Doing it on a videogame where you have a unique opportunity to play FOR FREE against real people and enjoy multiple maps, team play, a forum, etc, is beyond petty.

I've run across 2 in 2 days (probably the same one).

I've threatened them with the whole "Your IP WILL be traced and you WILL be banned" thing, but they don't leave camp. They just keep playing and playing and playing.

Maybe a new command for beginners that allows them to throw players.

Maybe a number per which slot they occupy in camp 1-8, like "> player3 out"

Thrasher, oo7 (a loyalist in the making with a paid-for propack), Doc_something (lol) and Vatex were all trying to do something about the unregistered hacker, but their hands were tied. So they were eventually forced to leave.

That's not right. They took the time to register and were even trying to form a team.

I have to think about this subject.
In any case, something like "> 5 out" is not very useful, because they don't have to log in again
and these idiots will come back.
I think a "24 hours temporary ban IP list" is the best solution.

Yeah. A ban is what I think is ideal. But I don't have any real power as a mod, so I just think of what I can in order to bug you

If Timberwolf (or any of your four main moderators) had access to beginner camps, then, if possible, a command like "> w/e IP ban" could be done quickly.

But I'm not sure if that's a type of power that can be, or should be, given out.

In any case, I think even beginner players need a solution to get rid of hackers. Whatever that may be, I'm sure you'll find a great one.
