How about hearing other players footsteps if they are close or overhead on bridges, or metal platforms such as in Siberia?

With only 16 sound channels, with so many machine guns and explosions you won't hear anything.

Point well received! Too bad though, I have often thought of this when traversing the metal platforms. If others heard me, I'd have to sneak across!

I think a "proxy detector" item would be a better choice.
