My avatar cannot fire any weapon while moving backwards.

Is there a way to correct this glitch?

There is something wrong with your browser/OS (probably a predefined shortcut).
The first step to debug this is to change the movement keys.
For example, set the Cursor keys instead of WSAD and see if you get rid of this issue.

Changed keys, still have the problem.
What else can I try?

you need to click on the save button as well. And sometimes with new updates, you need to set they keys again and save them :)

So you're retired. I had been wondering where you were.

Here is my login process:

First, I change the movement keys to my preferred pattern.
Next I login.
Then I always save the key changes.

Then comes the process of choosing an avatar, camp, play.

Still can't fire when moving backward.

My browser version is IE-8.0.6001.18702

yeah I am retired, thats why you dont see me much,
lets try your key thing in different way,
clear history, load game, login , change and save the keys and then play
then check if you can. if you still have problem then try checking in some other browser lets say chrome,
try different settings of mouselook in starting menu.
if problem still exist then better to check your shockwave version and updates

Did all of the above (except did not try different settings of mouselook in starting menu) and added Firefox to the mix - but no joy.

Will try different mouselook settings.

Shockwave is current.

Make sure you have downloaded shockwave full & not slim.
Uninstall shockwave (full or slim) and download shockwave full.

If that don't work, uninstall browser & shockwave. Install browser and shockwave full again.
Remus recommends IE 6/7/8

If that don't work, then your computer is slow in some way (graphics card or processor).
If you have a fast PC, then it might be buggy

I told you to redefine the keys and to use "standard" keys.
But you didn't change anything.
You have the same abnormal keys config:
E - Forward
R - Back
W -Turn Left
S - Turn Right
A - Strafe Left
F - Strafe Right

The R key is reserved for DS.

How can you play with those keys anyway?

Those keys seem to fit my hand better and having to use the Right arrow and Left arrow is awkward for me to do.

However, now that I understand what you mean, I will try the "standard" key config and let you know if it works.

I told to use the Cursor keys for testing purposes.
To see if you can fire when moving backwards.

The "standard" keys for moving are WSAD.

Thanks to all who made such helpfull suggestions and especially to Remus. My avatar is much more effective now that it can fire while moving backwards.

"R" is not for reverse any more.
