Points on high scores sheet

Hi, I have noticed that the points on the high scores sheet dont really seem to be increasing for me. I took a few screen shots to track this over the last few weeks or so and my points have dropped from 29665 down to 11555. I had my suspicions that all was not well as my score does not seem to be going up with my all time score.
I am not a great user of the items and I always turn them off if I am the owner of the game.
Not too sure how the points system works but after playing for a few years now I think it should be higher than it is. Any ideas ? Is it working properly ?
I had taken a screenshot as far back as 08th October 2017 and my points were at 53290 !
I looked down the sheet and the points seem to be linked with the all time score some are around at least half and others more.
I just dont get how mine can be so far apart or so low. Cheers
