2vs2 Domination - Scaled Down

Remus,

Domination is my new favorite teams match. But I know a lot of teams decline to play because they can't find 3 or 4 teammates.

Most of the matches are 2vs2.

So what about an SMC version of Domination?

I'm not entirely sure what the "center" of SMC is. Maybe put the green flag (only for the purposes of domination) in the corner where the billboard is, and put the dog (a poodle for SMC or a puppy :lol: ) where the bazooka ammo is. Or maybe where the hanger by the G3 is.

I don't know. But I think SMC would be a cool camp for this type of domination. I'm just not sure how it work. The yellow flag is right beside the WH. And the green flag is closer to the castle if anything in that was the "center"

Maybe a new building/platform?

But I cannot use it because the paths to the green & yellow bases are different (length & structure).
I have to find another "center" for this map.

Well, I don't know if this is possible/practical:

Maybe since SMC is a smaller map than KIN by like 10x ( :lol: ), the dog could actually follow the player's path instead of walking a predesignated path? Is that practical?

It would make it slower and more strategy-based, too, as players would have to constantly keep track of the dog whether they're attempting to take it to the base or attempting to steal it.

To avoid having some noobs hide in buildings with the dog, you could give the dog's location on the radar.

Some things that dog couldn't do, to avoid idiocy: can't walk up steps/ramps; can't enter into ammo houses to "hide"...

Just some suggestions. :cheers:

1) Domination does not mean "walk the dog" or "follow me".

2) it's not a good idea to follow you anyway.
A few reasons: you can jump, fall down, use the teleporter, hide yourself (and you'll mess up the game).
3) Kineterra is only 2 times bigger than SMC.
On big maps, any kind of pathfinding comes with a significant performance drop

i have 1 estupido idea.. what about dog behind bill board or opposite to that (near tank)
dog will go to center of castle first and then towards specific flag.

I had the same idea: to set the "center" on the road in that area.
10 points (candybar, chocolate, Stinger missile) go to Kiren.

To employ more of the camp, how about this (using some of Kiren's idea):

The dog is located at the jeep (or whichever spot nearest is defined the "center"). Players must go get the dog and the dog then walks to the center point of the castle (not the center you showed, but just the center of the castle - in the open by the toxic jugs).

You could have like a little doghouse in there or something, and here comes a puppy pit bull. :mrgreen: So now both dogs are walking the second predesignated path to the green or yellow flag.

Of course, the route "length" is probably doing to be different. From center castle, the dogs have to walk through two doors, alongside the wall by the G3, and then to the green base. For yellow, the path is a straight shot, so maybe have the dog go around the sniper ammo house, behind the hanger, to keep the players out of the wide open.

Edited to add:

Green and Yellow would have a slightly different route to the castle from the jeep, so one couldn't just pick up where the other left off. The dog would have to backtrack and start again.

And I'm liking this puppy idea! :pompom: The players go get the big dog, the big dog goes to get his son, and the family must return safely to base.

That's why we cannot use the castle for the paths.
Around the castle yes, but inside of it no way.

I found a route - same length for both teams, to and from, only the structure/layout is different.

But since SMC isn't a mirror like KIN, I don't see any way that two teams could have the "same" path.

Come check out my path options and maybe it will be worth trying to see if one team ends up with an advantage or not.
