Friendly Fire!
As the previous topic was lost on this subject we shall have to start it again.
I have both won and lost team matches due to team mates killing each other so I have a proposal.
If you kill your own team mate then your life should get reduced to 10%.
This will balance the game play and not give any advantage to these loose cannons. It also doesn't mess up the scoring with the frags.
Remus, is this possible?
Does anybody have any further suggestions?

Re: Friendly Fire!
In my opinion, that's a good idea and solution, cause this way the 'own-team killer' stays vulnerable and be a easy target to the other team. Like Scrappitt said, the game stays balanced.
I've already heard the ideia of the bullets don't affect team-mates. It seems good, but that way, you would fire even if you have a team-mate in front of you between your enemy. The game wouldn't be fair, would it?
I see that you (you all: beggining from Remus to the less-scored beta-tester) try to convert the game more realistic (both in quality of the camps and rules/definitions of the characters) so Scrappitt's idea isn't far from the reality: if your team knows you killed a team-mate just because he was in front of you when the enemy appeared or you fired the RPG when your mates were near the enemy and you killed them, you will get punished. That's why I agree: the person get punished without being killed.

And yes, it's possible.
However I'm not so sure about that 10% percent.
10% of 100 health units is not the same thing with 10% of 20 health units.
So I think 10-20 health units self damage is a better approach.
But let's see a few other opinions.

Re: Friendly Fire!
I did actually think that it could go down to 10% of you total life not your current life. If you were on either 20 or 100 you would still go down to 10.

Re: Friendly Fire!
We need to decide the amount of self damage.
I think there are 4 options:
1) -10 units
2) -25 units
3) -33 units
4) -50 units
Also, we can extend this concept:
a) self damage per bullet
b) self damage per kill
It's up to you.

Re: Friendly Fire!
My choice out of this would be to have -33 units per bullet to reduce the offender down to a minimum of 10 units. This will make them enough of a sitting duck for the opposition.
We do of course need more opinions so can you all please post your preference.

Re: Friendly Fire!
I think Scrappit is rite 10 to 33 unit per bullet actually we are also talking about Punish to killer mates if in case he/she killed already the mate after that should be double penalty he should loose health unit 66 and who player dead already and respawn again in that time he had 15 health before dead after respwan he should get 15 health onlyMy choice out of this would be to have -33 units per bullet to reduce the offender down to a minimum of 10 units. Re: Friendly Fire!
remus would it be possible for when in free teams a player shooting a team mate it would be as if he was shooting himself and no one else would be affected.that way the only player that is punished is the player doing wrong. also a player shooting a team mate or himself would be dead for an extra 5 seconds every time he shot team mate or himself so if a player did this say 4 time in a game he would be dead for 25 seconds. this would give an instant message to new player the rules and to older players to be more careful myself included

Re: Friendly Fire!
I think it's a bad idea, because in the case matches 2vs2, 3vs3 and 4vs4 team with fewer players have advantage over the opposing team, because we all witnessed that when you play 2vs3 or 3vs4, the team with fewer players wins...leolenny wrote:or more simply if u shoot a team mate or yourself you are dead for 60 seconds

for me its not about who wins its about having a good game plus these sort of players will not be mist until they learn the rules

Re: Friendly Fire!
Guys, you need to decide:
1) self damage per bullet or per kill
2) the ammount of self damage

Hi RemusRemus wrote:Guys, you need to decide:

I am agree on Per Kill
I think my idea is this
2 condition can be Done For both people (way to punish)
(1)For mate killer)
self damage per kill (50 Unit) in case mate killer has 40 health so he will not dead that time his health should remain only 1 unit and next time after respawn he will must get 90 Health not 100 Health (Less 10 Unit ) it should be good penalty to mate killer
(2) For Dead mate Inocent Mate
dead mate should get same health after respawn :) suppose that he/she was on 15 Health before die so He/she will get 15 health only after respawn

It's too much Tanweer.simplysheikh wrote:self damage per kill (50 Unit)
In many cases you kill a team mate by accident.
Why?simplysheikh wrote:dead mate should get same health after respawn
It's not his fault.
To conclude: I think -25 or -33 health units per kill are the best options.
You need to decide today.

Re: Friendly Fire!
33%
Friendly fire has always happend in war although not always intentional.
Here in our own little battles it only happens on the odd occasion so I'd push it up to 50% but...........
