Hopeless 2 Forum

My friends, as of tomorrow, the 27th of June, I will be out of the country on a vacation with my two brothers, two of my nephews and my 84 year old father as we embark on yet another annual fishing expedition to Northern Ontario, Canada. Where we set up camp is actually about 45 miles (sorry, 72.4 km) from civilization and electricity.

So high-speed internet? Nope. Hopeless 2? Nope.

Just family, fishing, bonfires at night with two acoustic guitars and lots and lots of cold beer!

But my second family is left behind.
Have fun without me, and know that I will be thinking of you all as I watch the Northern lights fall over our campsite, hear the loons singing on the mist-covered lake, and I will tip a beer to you all every night!

Hahaha!!! Well I don't know about the Sasquatch, but the bears are attracted to EVERYTHING in camp. We had a young male black bear, about 400 pounds (about 181 kg) circling out camp. Later in the evening, my younger brother stepped behind our tent to....well, you know, and there he stood less than 10 feet (3 meters) away!

We chased him with stones and yelling and cursing. But he never acted scared at all.

After fishing the next day, we returned to camp to find the cook tent all torn up and some of our food missing. Not much, we must have caught him in the act. But for the remainder of our stay, we had to lock the food in the trucks at night, and keep one man in camp to keep him away!

We had perfect weather temperatures and little rain, good fishing. The only other bad thing was we could not enjoy the campfire much later than 10:30 as the mosquitoes became unbearable!

Other than all of that, a perfect vacation.
